Luis Moya: “We want a WRC round in Norway”

Subaru World Rally Team’s Sporting Director Luis Moya says he would like to see a WRC round in Norway, possibly to replace one of the current gravel events.

Moya is in Hamar with his drivers Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson and the former co-driver for Carlos Sainz says he is impressed with what he has seen so far.

”I’ve been through SS4, SS5, SS13 and SS14 and I think the roads are just wonderful.  Everything else I have seen so far is perfect too.  Bruno Berglund always does a brilliant job with setting out the routes and producing the roadbook so this couldn’t be in better hands.  I can’t see why there shouldn’t be a WRC round here,” says Luis Moya.

“If we lost one of the gravel events in favour of a pairing between Sweden and Norway and two other events on consecutive weekends, it would save our team 200,000 Euros,” adds Moya.

Luis Moya took the opportunity of Wednesday’s press meeting to get to know the two Norwegian Subaru drivers Mads Østberg and Anders Grøndal.
