Rally Norway announces details of special stages
|
Local regions to gain from naming concept Rally Norway is breaking new ground by naming its Special Stages after well known towns and places on the rally route, rather than using specific and very local descriptions, which is the pattern for most rallies. Norwegian TV audiences will recognise the names Våler, Kongsvinger, Hamar, Finnskogen, Løten and Ringsaker among others and connect those places with striking rally pictures. At the same time, international audiences will be seeing the names of large towns and landmarks which they can place in context of Norway’s national geography. ”Encouraging growth in the region is a central part of Rally Norway. As far we know we are the first rally to use more promotionally aware names for Special Stages,“ said managing director Jim Carlsen. ”When you watch a rally on TV, the names of the Special Stages flash up like adverts on the screen to millions of viewers and they appear in print in media across the world. It makes sense to us that we highlight names that mean something, names that viewers may more easily relate to and that they will recognise again in other marketing.” “We think this increases the marketing value for the region and we are demonstrating that Rally Norway belongs to the entire population and not only the local experts. It also means that international audiences will be exposed to names of places that can be readily found on the Norway map,” adds Carlsen. Descriptions of Rally Norway SS 1 - SS 14 |
