Rally Norway in newspaper relay

Since January 5 Norway’s local newpapers have organised a relay to celebrate the breaking up of the union with Sweden 100 years ago. At the same time the newspaper relay is an appeal for the freedom of speech.
The relay stick has been carried with all different transport modes, like dog sledge, submarine, balloon ans well as more conventional modes – from Svalbard and southwards. When Rolf Nordberg (left) the editor of Glåmdalen, the newspaper in Kongsvinger, received the relay stick from Ole Erik Almlid, the editor of Østlendingen, the paper chose to focus on rally sport and Rally Norway.
– This is to emphasise that the district of Glåmdal is a centre for rally sport in Norway and that the plans for a WRC round in our district is something we support, says Rolf Nordberg. |
