Rally Norway out to the public

Planning of the special stages in Rally Norway’s WRC candidate race for February 2006 is nearing completion. Our plan involves locating some of the stages in or near the cities of Kongsvinger, Hamar, Lillehammer and Elverum. One stage is planned for the Hedmark interior.

Rally Norway has employed Sweden’s Bruno Berglund, one of the world’s leading rally experts, to find the best suited locations. He is travelling the district at the moment to investigate each meter of the proposed locations. Security, as well as many logistics considerations, will be the main decider. Scenery which shows Norway from an advantageous angle will also weigh heavily in Rally Norway’s final location decision. One of the stages will therefore be arranged in a mountain landscape. But one of the most spectacular stages will be inside the Viking Ship in Hamar.

Rally Norway will submit its WRC application in August this year to the Federation Internationale de l´Automobile (FIA)
