Senior FIA executive visits Rally Norway

FIA World Rally Championship Co-ordinator Charles Reynolds had a thorough look at the Rally Norway organizers on a two-day visit in early December. Mr. Reynolds will play a key role in the FIA’s evaluation of Norway’s WRC application.

“We did our utmost to show Charles Reynolds that we are pros in this game, and fully able to handle a WRC round. It was especially satisfying to show the national enthusiasm for Rally Norway, with thousands of volunteers and the Government granting 23,5 million NOK for this winter’s WRC-test,” says Rally Norway Manager Even Wiger.

Two busy days introduced Mr. Reynolds to plans at all levels for the rally and also included a personal drive-through of the already deeply snow-laden spectacular special stage in the mountains.

The FIA appears to have a keen interest in Rally Norway’s application, and as expected they are paying close attention to the organizers preparations in advance of observing the official candidate event itself in February. Previous to Charles Reynolds’s visit , FIA-representative Simo Lampinen travelled to Norway to check the special stages security program.
