End of stage comments SS13 Hamar 1

Feb. 14, 2009

1. Sebastien Loeb/Daniel Elena (Citroën C4)

“I tried my best in the morning so I am quite happy for now. We are on the limit all the time, I don’t know if it will be enough to stay in front this afternoon because I will be going first and cleaning all the lose snow left by the other competitors.”

3. Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen (Ford Focus RS WRC 08)

“Seb has been unbelievably fast this morning, we have been doing crazy speeds. We will have to go even more crazy now to see if we can get ahead. For sure I will be trying even harder this afternoon.”

4. Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Antilla (Ford Focus RS WRC 08)

“It is amazing how fast those two guys in front are going. I just couldn’t find anymore speed, well I could but I probably wouldn’t stay on the road. I wanted to fight with Mikko and Seb but now the main thing is to keep my third position.”

11. Petter Solberg/Phill Mills (Citroën Xsara)

“I have had a bit of a trouble this morning. It sticks open a bit when we come to corners so that has been a little bit scary for these three stages. I am still trying to attack though.”

6. Henning Solberg/Cato Menkerud (Ford Focus RS WRC 08)

“Yes I will try to attack Sordo this afternoon for sure. The stages have been very good today. Now we have to do some small changes to the car on service and then I can attack more this afternoon.”

16. Matthew Wilson/Scott Martin (Ford Focus RS WRC 08)

“The Mountain Stage was incredible to drive. The grip there was just awesome. As for my position it’s a shame that Sebastien Ogier went out because that was a good battle. Now we’ve got no one to attack really. And my brake pedal has been really hard this morning which makes it difficult to stop. Hopefully that can be fixed in service.”

5. Urmo Aava/Kuldar Sikk (Ford Focus RS WRC 08)

“The car is OK but it’s not good for me this morning, I’ve got no rhythm to my driving.”

8. Conrad Rautenbach/Daniel Barrit (Citroën C4)

“We put different brake pads in last night and they don’t seem to work. The two long stages this morning were great so it was disappointing we could not have a real crack at them.”

18. Mads Østberg/Ole Kristian Unnerud (Subaru Impreza WRC 2008)

“I am much happier than yesterday because I was very disappointed by then but we are still having to do the stages with all the windows open to demist the wind screen. We have made adjustments to the car and now we need to make some more.”
